Benjamin Netanyahu tells the U.S.-Do not be fool by Iran's ruse
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warns the U.S. not to allow Iran to make “fools” out of them on the nuclear deal and the war with the Islamic State and the Levant (ISIL).
During an interview on CBS’ “Face the Nation” with host Bob Schieffer, Netanyahu expressed concerns that Iran’s intentions during the P5+1 nuclear negotiations are not honorable and that Iran has a second agenda when it comes to ISIL.
Netanyahu told Schieffer, “ This is not a friend, neither in the battle against ISIS nor in the effort, the great effort, that should be made to deprive them the capacity to make nuclear weapons. Don’t fall for Iran’s ruse. They are not your friend.”
Netanyahu stated that Iran’s intentions are evident in the country’s leader, Ayatollah Khamenei, participation in anti-U.S. and anti-Israel rallies where chants of “Death to America, death to Israel” are prevalent.
The prime minister stressed that Iran’s support of anti-U.S. and anti-Israeli sentiments is proof that Iran should not have nuclear weapons that will allow Iran to continue enriching uranium and developing ballistic missiles that could reach beyond the Atlantic to the U.S.
Netanyahu also said that Iran’s anti-Western views is why the U.S. should not join with Iran to defeat ISIL because it will result in the U.S. “strengthening” one extremist, anti-Western group over another.
Netanyahu went on to say that the U.S.-Israel relationship is “very, very strong” and recent reports about tension between the two are not true.
